Professor Magoha is right in condemning those fighting CBC as day dreamers. It doesn’t matter whether it is in courts or public domain. If I was the Professor, I would consider using the KICD approved concept titled Career Dynamics in the 21st Century as a key reference, to my defense. I would present the judge dealing with the matter, as well as each of the defence and prosecution lawyers with a copy of the concept. Why so?

The concept was meant to address the transformation of the education system with regard to alignment with the 21st Century Paradigms. It doesn’t matter whether it is improvement of the 8-4-4 system or using the ideas for the architecture of the Competecy Based Curriculum – CBC. Indeed, how can so called “learned friends” of the 21st Century present to court cases on behalf of clients, who are in the 21st Century physically, but mentally in the 20th Century? Could that not be demeaning their intelligence probably just for the sake of financial benefits?

The concept Career Dynamics in the 21st Centiry has been read widely by Professionals especially Lawyers, universities, including Professors, educationists particularly in secondary schools around the counties and interestingly in the Religious sector. Did you know that yours truly was before February 2018 concentrating only in schools, professional bodies and interestingly in the mainstream Religious Sector, especially in Nairobi and Kiambu Counties?

Further, he extended the empowerment mission to Nyeri and Kajiado Counties upon continued invitations. Incidentally, our schedule of empowerment engagements comprises 45 sessions either as a guest speaker on Sundays or speaker in seminars in Anglican, PCEA, Methodist, CITAM, Catholic Churches as well as one PEFA Church in Nairobi. Of great interest particularly is once interacting with Justice Lee Muthoga, a retired International Judge, in a PCEA Church function.

He became interested in our concept after introduction of the same, in the function, but largely for his daughter, who was still in secondary school in 2018. One month later, we met with the same Retired Judge, who indicated that he loved the reading, but there was some missing information that should have been included. He never said which but, upon reflections and comparison with continued request for the next serries of our concept, by readers, we realized something. Career Dynamics in the 21st Century, enables readers to become high flyers, upon applying the knowledge therein.

The high flyers now needed high order knowledge and skills that could sustain the success achieved. This eventually led to our advancement publication titled “Living Beyond Survival; No More Tiptoeing in Life.” No wonder, one statement of the foreword by a University Vice Chancellor indicates that ,” the two publications, which I have read contribute greatly to not only personal development, but also, the transformation of the education system in Kenya.”

Seemingly, we were totally ahead of everybody else with regard to the transformation of the education system. In fact, we had started applying the respective philosophical issues long before Career Dynamics in the 21st Century.was published.

Perhaps, that is why the ideas shared were eventually used for the architecture of CBC. Remember this inspiring reflection – ….”We knew what we wanted with the new curriculum, but did not know how to achieve it, until reading your book (Career Dynamics in the 21st Century), which has now provided a home grown solution to the education system,”… revealed the then KICD Research Director, in May 2016.

As such, those who have already proceeded to court to fight CBC could be the foremost day dreamers, referred to by Professor Magoha, isn’t it?

FYI
Our educational tour this week took us to Nyandarua and Laikipia Counties. There were so many questions asked especially about the CBC, some of which were difficult to answer. An example is why I have personally not volunteered or been engaged to help in the implementation of CBC. Really? I don’t have any control on that in a country where who knows who etc overides expertise. The good news is that ALL the current education bigwigs now know that I exist, don’t they?

Next is the presentation by a principal of how their school benefitted invaluably from our June 2021 Teachers’ Seminar. Did you notice that 3 teachers rejoined school for acquiring new knowledge aiming to appropriately re-align themselves?

If teachers can re-align themselves through our seminars, what can you make of students benefitting from their version of our seminars? Could they ably be avoiding the same challenges now being sorted out by teachers, who have benefitted from our seminars? Most importantly, how is the alignment of the future leaders under your care? Just a thought anyway.
