“Most often, students are in our hands for 4 years. We do everything possible to ensure that they will be successful in their life, even long after leaving school. How is it possible that you can transform the mindsets of such students after being with them for an empowerment session, of only 2-3 hours?” Wondered a Chief Principal of one school, who has been a follower of this forum, since inception.

This intriguing side chat has become of great concern, thus the need for some attention. But, who said that it is impossible to suddenly transform people’s mindsets? As a Professional Trainer or Trainer of Trainers, for many years, it’s difficult to imagine that a training session can end without transforming people’s mindsets.

Actually, training should never be treated as an entertainment session or break from usual routines. It doesn’t matter whether the participants are university lecturers, teachers of secondary schools or professionals of whatever kind.

The training strategy is what differentiates professional trainers and others. In case of any doubts, what then would explain the situation whereby teachers, re-join school for re-empowerment after our seminars?

For students, it is even easier, since they are still malleable, thus easily adaptable to change. How then do we transform them? In about 3 hours, we easily change their perceptions about success in life. It all starts with addressing some mutually agreeable objectives.

Alongside, we take them through easy understanding of the challenges experienced in the society. What caused them and what can be done to ensure that the training participants do not eventually become part of the same.

All this is supported by serious and well known case studies that are in the public domain. Under such circumstances, who wouldn’t want to change in line with experiences of those case studies?

In any case, our key strategy is to remove Kenyans from 20th Century to 21st Century Paradigms. Remember, the thinking of being educated to secure rewarding jobs. Really, are they still existing?

The good news is that our strategy is always supported by detailed evaluation, meant to confirm the extent to which the participants have transformed their perspectives. That is always our reference in the event of any doubts.

In any case, we are most often proven right when eventual results are achieved. Naturally, that explains why numerous schools have kept engaging us again. Those from Machakos County, Kiambu and Tharaka Nthi lead others in this regard.

Educationists who have participated in our school seminars can easily attest to those revelations. As such, imagining that transformation can’t happen in only 3 hours or thereabouts, can only be associated with misunderstanding, isn’t it?

FYI
Our empowerment strategy continues gaining more and more traction, especially since the ongoing transformation of the education system became a reality. As communicated last week, Empowerment Seminars in about 5 or 6 schools are still scheduled in the first 2 weeks of 2023 term 2. More are still welcome in this month of May 2023.
