While pursuing university education, I studied African Philosophy, a course that lasted only one semester, but has greatly influenced my life ever since. (Find related content @ https://youtu.be/ISqKxhsBgdw) There are many areas of focus in philosophy, nevertheless.
One can pursue American Philosophy or European Philosophy amongst many others. Only African Philosophy was on offer in our case. All the same, there were great lessons of influence worth sharing.
Foremost of them all is that Philosophy is the search and dissemination of knowledge, for the improvement of the welfare of humanity. More still, philosophy is never about the level of one’s education, but rather ability to interpret and apply the knowledge at hand. That thought process somehow enabled me to comprehend my life strategy.
Meanwhile, long before the advent of education in our society, we had and still have wise uneducated men and women, whose ideas are sought and respected for the benefit of all. They are reffered to as sages, a similarity to philosophers.
As such, when visiting schools to share our knowledge or do the same on social set-ups, some of us are most often guided by the principles of philosophy. We may sometimes be perceived to be marketers largely only having intents of making money from schools. The truth is that there is a limit to which free knowledge on how progress can be achieved, as shared through this forum.
Inevitably, extending the same or related knowledge to schools and other institutions consumes time, efforts and is thus an expensive affair. More still, delivery of that knowledge without any related tools or formal content could be incomplete. The essence of writing of the KICD approved Career Dynamics in the 21st Century and Living Beyond Survival: No More Tiptoeing in Life could now be more comprehensible, isn’t it?
JFYI
There have been numerous contributions towards the improvement of the welfare of humanity, which have influenced even the national progression strategy. Examples include:-
- Providing the Kenya Government with a concept on disbursement of the Youth Enterprise Development Fund in 2006.
- Writing articles in the media which influenced Government Strategy. Example is a May 2008 Business Daily article titled Fast-Tracking Road Projects. The same led to contractors being awarded maximum 30 km of road projects (as revealed by the then Roads Assistant Minister).
This was influenced by my analysis of incompetentcy, upon noticing re-tarmaking of a stretch of 20 Km of the road section from Kikopey to Nakuru having taken more than one year to complete. At that rate, the Nakuru Kisumu road, which was in a desperate situation, could have taken several years to be reinstated.
- Usage of the philosophy articulated in Career Dynamics in the 21st Century for the Architecture of the Competency Based Curriculum- CBC in 2016.
The contributions still continue especially through empowerment of our future Leaders and their handlers too, whenever and wherever invited. This week involves form 4 classes of 2 schools in Machakos County.
