About November 2021, we in this forum highlighted the experience of a Machakos County based school, which embraced our empowerment strategy in May 2018. The school (which will not be named again) experienced a commendable transformation, and it is no longer associated with the earlier negative lables.
In December 2021, we were upon these revelations, in this forum, engaged by an Embu based school, whose principal got attracted to our unique 21st Century Empowerment Strategy. We needed to sort out issues of POOR ATTITUDES that lead to HIGH LEVELS OF INDISCIPLINE coupled with CHALLENGED PERFORMANCE.
The thing is, if any empowerment strategy embraced doesn’t PERMANENTLY improve ATTITUDES, STRATEGIC DIRECTION (focus) as well as READING CULTURE, it may not be worth the efforts, as we have realized over the years. Why so?
Strategically speaking, improvement of the three attributes explained should NATURALLY lead to REDUCED INDISCIPLINE LEVELS and UPLIFTING of PERFORMANCE STANDARDS. The outcomes are now evident as this time revealed by the principal of the Embu based School. Still, there are other revelations assessible through our YouTube Channel under Mwangi Wanjumbi.
However, why is attitude change amongst teachers and students a common challenge, despite continued efforts through varrying educational stakeholders? The truth is that any empowerment efforts that don’t permanently transform mindsets or perspectives about work, money and requisite objectives may not lead to achievement of any desired results.
Nonetheless, we continue sharing tips on tested empowerment strategies, not only on this forum, but also through the YouTube channel. Ideally, this should help institutional managers to easily overcome challenges associated with the ongoing school performance audit, isn’t it?
FYI
Many times, I am amazed by institutional managers who indicate that their schools are just small entities that can’t maintain educational standards, as those expected of others. The truth is that Kenyan Educational Standards are the same everywhere.
The only difference is the infrustructural structures, thus facilities available. The other variation is the level of understanding based on exam results achieved at Primary School examination, by the various secondary school students.
As such, the lessons and examination content are the same for Sub-County, County, Extra-County and National Schools. So, forget about the situation of the school, and concentrate on improving performance standards. That is why our empowerment strategy has since 2015 variously been embraced by National upto the level of Sub-County Schools.
