Feedback on inability to read our transformative publications has continually been revealed in this Forum, especially with regard to the KICD approved Career Dynamics in the 21st Century. The good news however is that the same is widely used for education transformation research, especially by those pursuing Masters degrees and PhDs. Why say so?

The publication is part of the resources in the MOE Library, Jogoo Hse, 10th Floor. As such, it has for the second time been exciting, bumping into an Institutional Manager, openingly indicating the ongoing pursuance of PhD credentials associated with educational matters.

We encountered the first one in MERU in 2021, who was pursuing a PhD in Counseling Psychology. Upon acquiring our publications, the institutional manager who has since retired, was later, full of praise for the content interacted with in our publications.

About two or three weeks ago, we interacted with yet another PhD Scholar, somewhere in Kiambu County. The first reaction was acquisition of our publications for personal use. She is pursuing a PhD in education philosophy. Alongside, we got to know that this Institutional Manager is in the Presidential Working Team on Educational Reforms.

Imperatively, we couldn’t avoid pinpointing some of the major weaknesses associated with implementation of CBC. The first one is premising Junior Secondary School in Primary Schools, which may lead to terrible failure of the implementation of the CBC. It could have worked better had Grade 7 and 8 been branded as Upper Primary School and content just modified moderately.

This would have avoided the engagements of the current one or two teachers for now charged with implementation of the junior secondary education in each school. Imagine specialists in say Biology/Chemistry for example, being expected to excel in covering areas such as Physics, Mathematics and other subjects associated with junior secondary schools! Will students achieve the desired value?

More still, Grade 9 will be totally misplaced if it remains in primary school. We could have discussed more and more, time allowing. Nevertheless, we look foward to the feedback from this institutional manager. Hopefully, it will coincide with that from the one met in 2021. She indicated that we easily demistify complex empowerment principles and deseminate them in comprehensible language.

Meanwhile, it’s been perplexing every now and then being informed that an institutional manager was never able to grasp the content of our publications. Some indicate that they are too busy to read. Others indicate that they chose careers long time ago, thus leaving the same to students.

The truth is that the Career Dynamics in the 21st Century concept was meant to align ALL with 21st Paradigms or mentalities. Those who have chozen their careers need to know whether they are appropriately aligned or not. Those still in the process of alignment need to be sure of whether they have done the right thing, isn’t it?

As such, aquiring the publications but being unable to interact the content therein could be defeatist. Why so? Our aim through the concept is to ensure that all educationists as well as our future leaders are aligned with the 21st. Century paradigms. Seemingly, this understanding makes sense, doesn’t it?

FYI
We are always inspired whenever parents and their children find value from our publications. Whenever the ATM – automated teller machine near my residence is defective, I always visit a neighborhood agent for the same services. The same one had a daughter set for the 2022 KCSE exams.

Having continually noticed our interests based on our branding process, this mother had earlier ignored our advice when the daughter was in form 4 in a private school, last year. Sadly though, the girl had no idea of what she intended to pursue after scoring a C+ grade.

This mother voluntarily acquired a copy of Career Dynamics in the 21st Century, soon after the KCSE exam results were released. This week, we were excited to learn that the girl intends to become a nurse, without any influence from the mother. Rather, she was able to evaluate herself appropriately, after reading Career Dynamics in the 21st Century.

Likewise, the mother was agreeable to the choice made, based on understanding of the girl’s natural orientation. We couldn’t agree more and will constantly be reviewing the situation of this nurse to be.

Meanwhile, the empowerment of our future leaders and their handlers continues taking shape in the year 2023. This week, it was exciting empowering boys of a Muranga School as had been indicated. Your school is also WELCOME for the same.
